St. Joseph's Health Centre currently has an exciting opportunity to join our critical care team as a Registered Nurse in Surgical Stepdown.

In this position, you will use your expertise in caring for surgical patients to provide a higher level of care in a level 2 environment with a reduced bed to nurse ratio of 2:1. As part of the ICU team, you will receive ample support and education to enhance and improve your nursing skills. Qualifications include:

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• A minimum of 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical experience is required with a preference for candidates who have surgical experience. (Candidates with less than 2 years¿ experience may be considered if there are no qualified internal or external applicants).
• Current BLS
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate within an inter-professional team.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education.
• Ability to be well organized and flexible.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Satisfactory attendance record.
